The law of the land
The Foundational Codex: seven chapters, twenty-five articles, adopted in a single sitting on 4 October 2026. Its structure follows the constitutional tradition of the Scandinavian kingdoms.
Chapter I. The Nation
Art. 2. National symbols.
The national animal is the swan. The national currency is the elnina (Ɇ), issued and ledgered exclusively by the Kingdom's treasury. The national flag follows the Nordic cross tradition, a warm vermilion field bearing a golden cross lined in cream: the warmth of the people, the light of Lanio, the swan upon the water.
Art. 3. The Founding Register.
The founding record of the Kingdom is the Founding Register, kept by the state archive (Graphi). Every act of state (every decree, law, and verdict) is entered into the Register with its date. The Register is the chronicle of the Kingdom; what is not entered did not happen.
Art. 4. National character.
The Kingdom holds the civil rights of its citizens to be of the highest standard in the world, and its political freedom to be excellent. This character is normative: drift away from benchmark civil rights is unconstitutional.
Art. 5. Stewardship.
During the Founding Era the Founder acts as Steward of the Kingdom, holding executive authority in trust. Upon the activation of the Kingdom's electoral institutions, elected bodies succeed to that authority.

The economy
The elnina (Ɇ) is the sole legal tender. Balances live in an append-only ledger, checkpointed daily against a public cryptographic anchor, and all trade closes through the state vault.

A citizen commissions a pixel portrait for Ɇ 120 on Emporio. Walk the same state machine the treasury runs. No path ends in limbo.

No funds move until the buyer pays into the vault. Peer-to-peer transfers are barred (Art. 14).
Event log, append-only

- Sellers cannot be held hostage: a buyer who ghosts after delivery gets auto-release after 7 days, not an infinite hold.
- Buyers cannot be raced: the 72h delivery deadline auto-refunds before the buyer even needs to notice.
- Disputes always terminate: every path ends in refund, release, or split. There is no funds-locked-forever state.
- Every transition is an append-only event on the Trapeza log, so the full lifecycle of any escrow stays auditable.
The elnina, in the ledger
Trapeza treats tampering as the gravest economic crime (Art. 12), so the ledger is built to make silent tampering publicly detectable.

The three largest allocations, administration, welfare, and education, absorb 49.2% of the budget between them: a social-democratic founding, true to the Kingdom's character. Welfare and administration stand joint first, and spirituality receives nothing at all.

The roadmap
Six services built at once is how digital nations die in beta. Lanio builds in three phases, and each phase has a definition of done.
Phase 1 · Foundation

The symbols
The Swan Standard, adopted by the Founding Session: a Nordic cross in the tradition of the Scandinavian kingdoms, carried by the national animal.
The cross rides forward of center, five parts in sixteen, in the manner of the Scandinavian kingdoms. The swan rests in the upper hoist canton, above the waterline of the cream.
